Match Preview

Liverpool will have a tough match against Chelsea in matchweek 3 of the Premier League 2021/22 which will take place at Anfield, Saturday (28/08/2021) at 10:00 p.m. Indian time,

Liverpool and Chelsea have both performed well this season by always winning 2 matches that have been undertaken. Both currently occupy the third and second positions in the standings.

In the opening match, Liverpool managed to win 3-0 over Norwich City through goals from Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah. Then in the second match, Liverpool won over Burnley with a score of 2-0 through goals from Jota and Sadio Mane.

Meanwhile, Chelsea in the opening match was able to pick up a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace through goals from Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic, and Trevoh Chalobah. Then in the second match, Chelsea won 2-0 at home to Arsenal through goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James.

At the last meeting in matchday 29 of the English Premier League last season, Liverpool surrendered to Chelsea with a score of 0-1 at Anfield. Mason Mount's only winning goal in the match was scored by Mason Mount in the 42nd minute

This match was the 178th meeting between the two teams. Liverpool managed to win 76 wins, while Chelsea won 61 wins, and 41 other matches ended in a draw.

Playing at home will of course make Liverpool more favored over Chelsea in this match. In addition, Liverpool are also known to be quite strong when playing in front of their own supporters.

However, Liverpool still has to be vigilant considering that in their last meeting they were defeated by Chelsea at home. Moreover, Chelsea's strength has now increased with the presence of Lukaku in their attack line.
